DAT100
Product Overview
The DAT100 is XKL’s DarkStar Aggregation Transponder featuring an OSI Layer 1 aggregation solution that supports 10GE client handoffs and 100GE line-side.
The DAT100 supports a variety of client-side and line-side transceivers. For the client-side: 10GBase-SR, 10GBase-LR, Tunable 10GBase-ZR; for the line-side: 100GBase-DR, 100GBase-LR, and 100GBase-LR4, Tunable 100GBase-ZR (DWDM).
The DAT100-8 is capable of aggregating 8x10GE client streams onto a single 100GE line. This is done without the use a complicated switching platform or typical Layer 2/3 components.
If the DAT100 is equipped with the Tunable 100GBase-ZR (DWDM) transceiver, then an Optical Service Channel, OSC, is included. This is an out-of-band management device. Optionally an integrated OTDR can be added to the system as well.
The DAT100 can serve as an integral part of an XKL network solution or can inter-operate with any optical networking equipment that utilizes the standard ITU grid with 50GHz or 100GHz channel spacing.
Along with reduced power consumption, the DAT100 is compact in size—available in either 1 rack unit (1U) or 2 rack unit (2U) configurations. Easy to integrate and operate, there is no need for specialized optical engineers to ensure network optimization.
